RED
CEDAR OPEN CIRCLES
Wednesday evenings 7:00pm
Red Cedar OPEN CIRCLES include song, dance, story, teaching,
and ceremony of the Pacific Northwest Coast spiritual tradition
called SisiWiss, meaning 'Sacred Breath'. The SisiWiss teachings
have been passed down for hundreds of years by the Native
Elders of this land. These traditional ways have been shared
with all people through our teacher, Whis.tem.men.knee, Johnny
Moses, of the Puget Sound first Peoples, who often attends.
Bring drums, rattles, etc. for prayer participation and dress
comfortably. Donations gladly accepted for use of the sacred
space and for the SisiWiss Teachings. NOTE: All Red
Cedar Circle SisiWiss gatherings are potluck as eating during
the circle is part of the tradition.

About World Chant Intention-Setting~
We begin by sitting comfortably and each person dedicates,
silently or aloud the love, blessings, and healing energy
that are to be generated in the circle. Chanting~
No prior singing or chanting experience is necessary. Words
and music to the chants are usually lead responsively and
are simple to pick up.
Everyone is invited to participate in any appropriate way
he or she is called. Each chant contains a sacred word or
phrase which serves to generate healing energy and to open
each member of the circle to the flow of that energy. Healing
Meditation~ After the chanting is done, we have a few minutes
to sit in silence. During that time, each may observe any
meditative practice, send out the energy that has been generated
in the circle and/or simply be present to the moment.
Closing Prayers~
We close the circle by affirming our intention that the
energy we generate as a group serves the spiritual needs
of all beings, including ourselves.
Our typical session lasts about 1-1/2 hours. We maximize
the time spent in chanting and meditation while minimizing
the time spent in conversation. There are no lectures or
sermons and we don't promote any personal, financial, religious,
or political agenda. The chanting circle is our sanctuary
~ a place of safety, holiness and healing.
"I honor the place in you and me where the entire Universe
dwells" ~ Namaste!" See also www.actonwisdom.org
