Chris Blodgett agreed to secure a P.O. Box for $10.00.

All of us should keep track of volunteer hours, ours and others we work with.

GEOGRAPHICAL AREA COVERED:

All of Western North America is eligible except provinces or states in which there is already a CDS chapter. Colorado and Alaska have viable chapters.

Western Canada, Wa, Ore, Id, Mt, Wy, Ut, Az, Nm, Ca and NV are the U.S. states currently in the net. Mexico states are welcome as well.

DISTRIBUTION COMMITTEE:

Bob, James, Chris, and Marilyn will get the lists in order. There should be a list of people from WNA (Western North America) who are also members of the International Society. This list has about 80 names.

There should be another list of people from the Greater Spokane Region who have attended the conference informational meeting and the chapter formation meeting. This list consists of about 30 people.

There is also a list of interested folks from the Greater Spokane Region. This list has over 400 names.

Distribution will be by e-mail if possible. Snail mail will be available for those needing it. Costs of mailings will be shared by budgets in June, Chris, Bob, and Marilyn's offices.

NEWSLETTER/BROCHURE

A survey of WNA ICDS members and Spokane Region attendees will be done ASAP in order to have a decisive vote on the chapter name. Cascadia and New Frontier are vying for title.

James will develop a web site and a membership brochure for the chapter.

An electronic and hard-copy newsletter will be developed.

We need a logo. We can use the national logo, and incorporate a local image into it.

CONFERENCE THEME DEVELOPMENT

There will be a meeting on Tuesday, December 16th at 10 :30 a.m. for people interested in helping develop a theme for the Spokane conference in 1999. The location of the meeting will be announced shortly. Ron Hustedde who will be the 1999 ICDS President will attend in person, if possible. Otherwise he will be present by speaker phone.

ATTENTION TO CITIZEN PARTICIANTS IN COMMUNITY AND REGIONAL MEMBERS

Some discussion was given to the importance of setting a tone of respect for the professionals and the activists. We also agreed to think about the larger membership whenever we chose language. It should be inclusive of a range of training, work, activity, and geography.

PROGRAM COMMITTEE

The heart of the chapter will be opportunities created by members to educate, train, support each other, according to the results of the survey already made by Bob Howell.

Marilyn suggested beginning with a series of monthly informal gatherings to view and discuss some CD videos she has. (Since then, the opportunity to have Robert Theobald come to a meeting has arisen, once he recovers from his surgery. He is a futurist, living now in Spokane, whose latest book "Reworking Success" is #8 on the best seller list today."

We need to form a Program Committee to begin activities in January.

NEXT MEETING:

We will meet after lunch on Tuesday, Dec. 16th. Location to be announced.

Respectfully submitted,

Marilyn Trail, Sometime Notetaker
