| WHERE DID THE PEOPLE WORK? |

<<
This picture is of mill workers who worked at the McMaster shingle mill
in Kenmore. The mill was just at the edge of the lake. Logs were floated
to the area, and the workers brought them up to the mill where they made
them into shingles for the roofs and sides of houses.
This was about 1905 when less than 100 people lived here. Today, almost a hundred years later, nearly 18.000 people live here! |

The mill was in Kenmore until it burned to the ground in about 1923. It was located just a little east of where the Kenmore Pre-Mix cement plant is located today. |
