The meetings are open to everyone. Only residents and local business owners may vote.
Summer meetings are not permitted by our bylaws. However, emergency meetings of the Board may be called by the President. No such meetings have been called in the past decade or more.
Board meetings of the MCC take place at 7:30 P.M. a week prior to all General Meetings. Board meetings are open. They are generally held in the home of different Board members. If you wish to observe, watch the FLYER for announcements of location.WHO IS A MEMBER OF THE MCC?
Every resident of the Montlake Neighborhood is automatically a full voting member of the Montlake Community Club (MCC) whether or not they own their residence or pay dues to the MCC. Likewise, every operator of a business in Montlake is a member. There is no formal procudure for joining the Club.RECEIVING THE MONTHLY NEWSLETTER
The Montlake FLYER, the MCC's free newsletter, is delivered to the doorstep of some 1300 homes and businesses in Montlake on the first weekend of every month (except in July and August). If you do not get the FLYER but feel that you should, please contact the FLYER Delivery Manager whose name is found on the Club Officers page or by writing to the FLYER Delivery Manager, PMB 446, 4756 U Village Pl. N.E., Seattle WA 98105.WHAT ABOUT DUES?
Dues are strictly voluntary donations and not required for MCC membership. We recommend a donation of $30 in order to cover the Club's annual costs. This includes the cost of printing and distributing the FLYER, maintaining our membership in various civic groups, occasional donations to the Montlake School or other neighborhood non-profit groups, our beautification work, and the minor costs of Club administration. Donations can be received at any time to the MCC Treasurer, PMB 446, 4756 U Village Pl. N.E., Seattle WA 98105
In past years Montlake residents have been generous, and the Club has generally been able to meet its fiscal needs based on its donations and FLYER advertising revenue. However, the balance between our income and our expenses remains delicate.
