Membership Information (English) Membership in Squire Park Community
Council is open to anyone who lives between East Jackson Street and
East Union Street from 12th to 23rd Avenues. To become a member, you
must fill out a membership form for each calendar year, indicating
your place of residence. This form is printed in each issue of the
SPCC quarterly newsletter, and the forms are also available at all
meetings of the council. A voluntary donation of $5 per member is
requested (not required), to sustain the newsletter. Quarterly
membership meetings are usually held on the second Saturday every
three months, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Meetings are conducted
democratically: each member gets one vote, and the majority rules.
Members are also welcome to attend monthly board meetings, to hear
presentations to the community council and voice their opinions, but
only board members may vote at board meetings. The next quarterly membership meeting
will be Saturday, July 8, 10:00 a.m. to noon, at CAMP Firehouse, 722
East Columbia Street. The next board meeting will be
Tuesday, June 6, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., in the first-floor conference
room of Providence Hospital (near the main entrance on East
Jefferson Street). (Spanish) El concejo de la communidad del Parque
de Squire representa a Ud. frente al gobierno municipal de Seattle.
El concejo está abierto a los residentes que viven entre las
calles Jackson y Union y entre la Avenida 23 y la Avenida 12. Se
yiene que llenar un formulario de membracia para votar. Este
formulario es en el folleto del Concejo y tambien es en cadas
reuniones. Se solicita una donacion ($5 cada familia es la
sugerencia) para publicar el folleto del Concejo. Las reuniones
generales de la membracia se lleven acabo quatro veces al año,
y normalamente duran un par de horas. Todas las reuniones generales
son dirigidas en una forma abierta y democratica: cada quien tiene
un voto, y los que estan en la mayoria ganan. La membracia general
elige una mesa directiva de siete o nueve se reune mensualmente y
estas reuniones estan abiertos a la membracia. Las reuniones del
directores se lleven acabo un vez del mes y la membracia puede a
attendar pero no puede a votar. La siquiente reunion general de la
membracia sera el Sabado 8 Julio 2000, a 10:00 de la manaña,
en CAMP Firehouse, 722 Avenida 18 (18 y Columbia). La siquiente reunion del directores
sera el Martes 6 Junio 2000, a 7:00 de la noche, en Providence
Hospital (cerca la entrada en Calle Jefferson Oeste).
