Neighbors working together for a better community
http://www.westwood-neighborhood.org
On October 21, 2000, we had over 110 neighbors work on the project. Our partner organizations continue to be blown away by the response the project has received. It is not often that they have seen so many individuals feel so passionately about a project. We can truly be proud of what we've done to date and we applaud your efforts and want you to know that we appreciate all that you've done and continue to do. The Community Celebration provided us another opportunity to reflect on what we can accomplish when we pull together. The guest speakers included Greg Nickels, King County Council; Margaret Pageler, Seattle City Council President; Richard Conlin, Seattle City Council; Ken Bounds, Superintendent of Parks and Recreation; and Dave Bockmann of the Department of Neighborhoods. Musical entertainment was provided by Eight Hands, an Irish & Celtic Music Group, which gave the event a very festive feel.

While it's wonderful to report that we've accomplished more than our partner organizations expected, we still have lots to do and might need to call upon you in November for additional planting parties. Thanks to this recent streak of good weather, the trail subgrades should be ready for planting and erosion control.
Thanks again for your continued support on this very exciting project!!!
