Mark Kloepper
Mark Kloepper earned a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Washington, where he studied under Joan Conlon,
Geoffrey Boers, and Peter Eros. He has also received training from Rod Eichenberger, Helmut Rilling, Alice Parker, Robert Shaw, Paul Hillier,
Moses Hogan, Anton Armstrong, and Peter Philips. Mark is director of the choral program at Sumner High School.
Mark's life as a choral musician began as the youngest boy soprano in the church choir in his native Kansas City. After earning a BA in Music
Education, he spent nearly 15 years working in the technical production of theatre and opera. Since returning to choral music, he has sung with or
conducted school choirs, church choirs, community choirs, barbershop quartets, musical theatre, and opera choruses. He has conducted at international
festivals in Cuba, Canada, and the US. Locally, he has conducted the Seattle Peace Chorus, the Polyphonic Singers, and the Seattle Labor Chorus.
He has directed the choir at Magnolia United Church of Christ, and was the chorus master of the UW Opera. He has sung with the Esoterics and
was a member of Choral Arts, singing under Richard Sparks, for five years.
