Upcoming PCJ events:

-Campaign to End Racial Profiling:
A Direct Action campaign to pressure the City Council to enact immediate steps (not another 18-month study) to end racial profiling by the police.
In connection with this campaign, we are demanding the resignation of City Council President Pageler who has demonstrated racism through her voting record and behavior.

-Creation of a Community Police Review Board: Because we have no faith in the OPA (Office of Professional Accountability), we are developing a Community Police Review Board which will serve as the direct voice of people who have experienced police abuse. The Review Board will collect complaint forms from dropboxes around the city, and will report them monthly to the Mayor, City Council and Police and will also report back to the community regularly. Further legal powers will be explored.

-Education: A series of educational events and community forums to build awareness around critical social justice issues.

-Service: We do two service projects a year which work to fill immediate needs in our communities. We see this work as vital to strengthening our relationships with community members and creating a base of community support.
