Welcome to Tacoma Combined Club
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT – BOB ANNON

Donations for Year 2012: money donations have been made to the Puyallup Food Bank and the Visitation Food Bank in Tacoma as well as collected food. We continue to support the Tacoma Rescue Mission with monthly donations of clothing, hygienic supplies, school supplies, etc.
Grocery Coupons: Volunteers are still cutting coupons for our Overseas Military in Okinawa. For the first six months of this year we have sent approximately 123,263 coupons.
Ronald McDonald House: Tabs collected so far this year is 17,605. Keep collecting your aluminum tabs for this worthwhile project.
Museum - The Pioneer Telephone Museum still remains a viable part of our club by the dedicated volunteers. We are always in need of additional volunteers to join our group. We have been told by visitors that our Museum is one of the most complete exhibits for showing the progressive history of the Telephone Industry. The Museum is open on Thursday from 8AM to Noon. Please come and visit.
Postage Stamps - This project started out as Stamps for the Wounded but quickly developed into two more projects by adding Sons of Norway and Royal National Institute of Blind People in England. We have received correspondence from these organizations and they love our stamps and are very appreciative. This year we have mailed almost 51,751 stamps to these organizations. Please see below about Stamps for the Wounded for more information.
Participation Hours - If you have coupons, stamps or aluminum tabs you would like to donate please call President Bob at 253-845-9194 or one of our Officers.
Thank You - We appreciate all the hours Life Members contribute to our club. In addition we currently have 40 regular members who contribute monetarily to help support our charitable functions and we are most thankful for your membership. Please encourage other employees to become a part of the Telephone Pioneer Organization.

STAMPS FOR THE WOUNDED
WE HAVE SENT IN THOUSANDS OF CANCELLED STAMPS SINCE WE STARTED THE PROJECT. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS LEAVE A QUARTER-INCH MARGIN OF PAPER AROUND STAMPS YOU TEAR OFF ENVELOPES AND TURN THEM INTO US.
WE NOW SEND STAMPS TO THREE GROUPS. WE STARTED WITH THE LIONS CLUBS’ STAMPS FOR THE WOUNDED WHICH AIDS IN THERAPY FOR WOUNDED SERVICE MEN. THEN WE ADDED THE ROYAL NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF BLIND PEOPLE WHICH PROVIDES SERVICES TO BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED CHILDREN AND ADULTS IN THE UK. OUR THIRD GROUP IS TUBFIRM IN NORWAY WHICH PROVIDES AID AND CARE FOR HANDICAPPED CHILDREN. THIS GROUP IS SPONSORED BY THE SONS OF NORWAY VIKING LODGE IN LAS VEGAS.
LIBERTY BELL AND FLAG STAMPS ARE VERY COMMON IN THIS COUNTRY BUT IN ENGLAND AND NORWAY THESE STAMPS ARE FOREIGN SO THE LAST TWO GROUPS ARE HAPPY TO RECEIVE THEM.
RONALD McDONALD HOUSE
WE ARE STILL COLLECTING POP CAN TABS FOR RONALD McDONALDHOUSE WHO WORK WITH LOCAL RE-CYCLING CENTERS TO RECEIVE MONEY FOR TABS FROM ALUMINUM CANS INCLUDING THOSE FROM SODA CANS, VEGETABLE CANS, SOUP CANS & PET FOOD CANS. YOU MAY WONDER WHY THEY WANT US TO COLLECT ONLY THE PULL TABS & NOT THE WHOLE CAN. TABS ARE CLEANER & TAKE UP LESS STORAGE SPACE & ARE MADE OF A PURER HIGH-GRADE ALUMINUM. ALSO TABS DO NOT INTERFERE WITH OTHER RECYCLING PROGRAMS THAT COLLECT THE CANS FOR OTHER WORTHWHILE PROJECTS. IF YOU HAVEN’T BEEN SAVING THEM & WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE SAVE THE TABS IN A ZIP-LOCK BAG & PROVIDE US WITH A COUNT & GIVE THE TABS TO ONE OF OUR OFFICERS. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP IN THIS WORTHWHILE PROJECT.
GENERAL MILLS BOXTOPS & CAMPBELL’S SOUP LABELS
KEEP COLLECTING THE BOXTOPS & SOUP LABELS FOR EDUCATION. THIS IS A WORTHWHILE PROJECT.
