Benefits of Membership
- Membership open to all interested in the needle arts
- The Guild maintains an office in the Good Shepherd
Center in Seattle’s Wallingford district (4649 Sunnyside Ave N, Room 107).
This space is used to house the library, hold workshops, provide meeting space
for various members’ interest groups, satellites, board meetings, etc.
- Three general meetings each year feature a program or one-day workshops of
interest to members. General meetings are held on the third or fourth Saturday of
September, January, and May.
- Several Workshops per year are taught by outstanding local, national, and
international teachers.
- Satellite Groups and Special Interest Groups meet monthly throughout
Greater Seattle and the surrounding area.
- Fiber Shows: Each spring we schedule an exhibition of the works of
our members. The exhibitions alternate year to year between juried and non-juried
shows. Entries may be original designs or adaptations
completed in the last two years using bobbins, hooks, needles, tatting
shuttles, knotting, or twining.
- Newsletters: Ten newsletters are mailed per year. Deadline is
the 10th of each month.
- Extensive Needle Art Library is available for use by members including
slide collections, and study boxes.
- Books may be purchased at a discount, at the general meeting
in May.
