- May 18, 2002 - In celebration of our 30th year, we welcomed a past
president of PNNAG, Larkin Van Horn
, an artist of many talents, who presented in lecture and fashion show
entitled 'If "One" is Good, "Twenty" is Better!' her latest creations,
including her Fairfield 2000 entry. The definition of "wearable art" has a
fairly wide range - from a simple beaded bracelet to a costume so convoluted
you wonder whether the wearer can even move! The vast majority, fall
somewhere in between. Larkin has been making and wearing her version of
wearable art for over ten years, and she emptied her closet for this
presentation. In an effort to brighten up a world full of blue jeans,
T-shirts and too many dark suits; Larkin approaches clothing with a light
heart and sense of humor as well as an eye for color. The Fashion Police were
NOT invited to this meeting!

Guild. Loretta is a past president of the Needle
Arts Guild of Puget Sound (based in Tacoma) and is currently their newsletter
