Nestled in between the neighborhoods of Seward Park, Rainier Beach, and Pritchard Island and on the shores of Lake Washington is Pritchard Beach Park. This park home to the largest wetlands restoration effort in the city of Seattle. More than four acres of wet park land that was formerly used as a city nursery is being restored to something closer to it's original state: a marshy, wildlife-friendly wetland. Additionally, the Prichard Beach Wetland/Wildlife Education Center works in partnership with nearby schools to teach students about the benefits and functions of wetlands. The Friends of Pritchard Beach Park is the volunteer, neighborhood organization formed to oversee this transformation and be the stewards of this unique place. See our Calendar of Events page for details on what's going on in Pritchard Park.
