Phase I Complete

Phase I included the initial reshaping of the site, removal of an existing building, removal of fill material from the Wetland, as well as creation of a pond, educational amphitheater, and pathways.  Phase I was completed during the Summer, Fall, and Winter of 1998. Phase II Finished

Phase II began in the Summer of 1999, and included construction of a boardwalk, completion of the educational amphitheater, and creation of the northern wet meadow. Also, the Boy Scouts of America contributed a kiosk at the entrance to the park, an Eagle Scout's community project Click here for pictures! Phase III, coming soon.

Phase III is now in the planning stages.  The additions that are being planned for this phase include:

bulletViewing piers at the South end of the wetland, at the lake shore, and perhaps over the pond.
bulletEducational/informational signage, blended into the wetland and "discoverable" as you wander through.
bulletA "rocks and logs" play area near the grassy meadow on the North end.
bulletA delineation strip between the grassy (wild) meadow and the park turf, which will include plaques and bricks of acknowledgement for our generous donors and supporters.
bulletA new pedestrian boardwalk to the South of the pond.

If you're a neighbor of the Pritchard Beach Wetland, join the FOPBP steering committee at any of our regularly scheduled meetings to add any input you may have for this next phase of our neighborhood project!
