The entire purpose of the Puget Sound Cinema Society is to provide a real
society medium, operated by cinema lovers and cinema makers, rather than
government flacks, corporate heads too stupid to tie their own shoes and
all pretentious do-nothings.
If you are a filmmaker or simply a film lover who wants to submit a piece
for showing, by all means do so. That is why we are here.
There are few guidelines, and they are simple:
- Have something to submit
- Submit on any of the following formats: VHS, Beta, 8mm, Super-8, 16mm
or DVD (we're working on 35mm and others, but these are the standard for
now)
- Mail to us at Puget Sound Cinema Society, 23240 88th Ave S #MM-201, Kent WA
98031.
- If you can, let us know what you wish to submit beforehand. At the
least, give us some idea.
- Always, always include a return address and e-mail if
possible.
- Never submit your original unless you are truly desperate and
have no other alternative. We'll be happy to provide you with duplicates
or your original, rather than wreck your work.
And that's it. No need to drop names. No need to tell us how something was
shot, digitized, edited or such. No need to tell us how great we are. No
need to be close personal friends. Just have something and submit it. We
will show it when we have the opportunity, and will probably ask you to be
in attendance.
What could be simpler?
Film societies were created to be venues for independent film that rubbed
against the grain of commercial cinema. They were owned and run by film
lovers (amateurs in the best sense), and gave us great films. The Puget
Sound Cinema Society recaptures that idea. We are here for you. This is
your venue.
