She was born and raised in the southern part of California, her family moved to Washington in 1993. Before they moved, her parents researched many different states for job opportunities and a better future for her brothers and sisters.
She came from a family of 11, being the oldest and the first to graduate with a Bachelors degree. Her long-term goals are to purse a Master Degree and maybe a Doctors degree in Business. Simona wishes to set a good example for her brothers and sisters and hope they will follow the same path. The importance of education was a big key factor for her parents. They believe strongly in education and emphasized to that they would rather struggle to keep all their children in school and college than to see their children working in the fields like they did.
As a young child of 5 years old she worked in the fields with her parents. All of her brothers and sisters were taught the same way, so that they would never go back to that type of environment. She worked with her parents until I was about 17 years old. Along the way, I learned English at about 7 years old and helped teach my brothers and sisters the English language. Helping them gave her courage and motivation to pursue other challenges that she could help with.
She started getting involved in her community as a junior in high school. She love to work with people and enjoy helping those in need. She would like to continue to give back to her community and new communities to come.
