History of PTDN
The first PTDN was started in the Seattle area in 1997 as a network of company and professional organization leaders with an interest in promoting workforce diversity. The first PTDN event was held at Microsoft on January 21, 1998, and was billed as a "Power Networking" evening, featuring a presentation on networking techniques and providing opportunities for companies to market career opportunities. Subsequently, several other networking events have been held featuring speakers, tabletop exercises, and employer/organization showcases.

Since this time, the PTDN has grown tremendously. The Puget Sound Chapter has been featured in several news articles in publications ranging from the Montreal Gazette to HR Magazine. Additionally, the concept has caught on in several other cities, spawning sister chapters in places as far away as the Bay Area, Portland, Detroit, Cedar Rapids, Twin Cities, Boston, and Washington D.C. The PTDN Puget Sound Chapter officially incorporated as a tax exempt organization in the year 2000. Please consider joining as we move forward in our partnership for diversity progress!
