Pearl Thomas is a founding member of the Professional & Technical Diversity Network and has been on the Board of Directors since it’s inception in 1997, serving as President for two terms (4 years). Miss Thomas possesses over 24 years of broad Human Resources experience including Director of HR - Training, Employee Relations, and Recruiting; consulting businesses in on site staffing and managing capacities. She has extensive expertise in Multi State Hiring and Employment Law, as well as Executive Management coaching. She has a high professional profile in the Puget Sound business community and has served in a variety of capacities as an HR Executive. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Seattle Chapter of SHRM, and as Chairperson for the Rainier Work Source Affiliate Business Team, a position she has served in for 10 years. She also served as a member of the Highline Community College Advisory Board and the King 5 Programming Board. She has hosted two television shows, (one on King 5 and one on KOMO 4), was crowned Miss Black Washington and Second Runner up in the Miss Black America Pageants. She has received numerous awards for her diversity initiatives, and has been a member of the Central and Eastside Diversity Task Force since 1994. She has owned two thriving Diversity placement firms, and has received many accolades from local and state level officials for her diversity efforts and accomplishments. Ms Thomas was recently relocated to beautiful Lincoln City Oregon (Oregon Coast) and was appointed Director of Human Resources for the Chinook Winds Casino Resort. www.chinookwindscasino.com While serving in various staffing and diversity consulting “start-up” roles, Ms. Thomas helped build “diversity” staffing programs for Total Staffing Solutions and Able and Associates, two Seattle Washington based diversity placement firms. Ms Thomas established the local operations, and successfully marketed the firms to major employers throughout the Puget Sound Area to build and maintain a strong customer base. She advised the Executive Managers with firms on Staffing, Best Practice Hiring, Employment Law, EEOC and ADA compliance issues. She was responsible for client and community outreach and managed internal recruiters, launching profit and sales by providing her vast experience expertise; to build winning teams that affected the bottom line, “profit”. She is known locally and nationally as being the “guru” in assisting and consulting businesses in the importance of diversity inclusion as well as the art of recruiting and retaining the “best of the best” in the talent market.
