Eleanor was an original member of the Eastside Diversity Taskforce, which spun out the Professional Technical Diversity Network (PTDN). The intent at that time was the same as it is today which was to ensure exposure to opportunities within companies be made available to those that may not have an easy foot in the door. It has been a great exchange over the years and the growth of the network shows the need is still there. She is excited for the opportunity to be part of the board to ensure the network continues to grow and thrive.

Eleanor’s professional work history entails 11 years with Seafirst Bank (currently Bank of America) in various capacities. Her last position was the Payroll Manager. Then she joined Safeco Life Insurance as an Accounting Manager in the Pension Department before transferring to the Human Resource department. Her last position was the Assistant Director of HR. While at Safeco she was instrumental in the company’s diversity initiatives. She started a minority internship program working with the Black Achievers program and INROADS. She also became part of the employers that started the Eastside Diversity Taskforce. She joined Qwest Communications as the HR Director for the NW Region. She is currently the Regional Sr. HR Manager with Staples covering a 10-state region. She continues to seek involvement in diversity networking activities in other regions.
