POETIC EFFICIENCY

It takes less time
To read a page of poetry
Than a page of prose
Because the lines are shorter
And there are more empty spaces
Between those lines.
Thus, poetry is more
Efficient than prose,
Despite many contrary claims
By barbarians,
Businesspeople,
Sad, little people
With second-rate dreams,
And other half-brained persons.
