Honoring the memory of Dave Ringstrom We are sad to report that Dave Ringstrom passed away on July 22, 2003 as a result of a fatal car accident. Dave was the lead Landscape Architect on the Soundview Park project and a founding partner of Atelier ps Landscape Architects. He worked on the Soundview project from the beginning and gave much of himself to the renovation effort. His commitment, sense of humor, and awesome design talent are reflected in the beautiful park that we enjoy today. The project committee is deeply grateful for Dave's contribution. We miss him very much.
Grand Opening Celebration on June 22nd The Soundview Park Grand Opening on June 22 was a fun community celebration. More than 350 people attended! Thank You Donors and Volunteers! If you made a contribution of any kind to the Soundview Park renovation - THANK YOU! This important project is happening because of your generosity. The Soundview Park Project committee appreciates your support of our effort to improve the safety and usability of Soundview Park. The park has truly become a widely used community-gathering place!
The Soundview Park renovation is the result of a highly successful community, government, and private partnership. In a series of well-attended community meetings, the Soundview Park Project committee and Atelier ps Landscape Architects developed a master site plan for the park. The Soundview committee then worked closely with the community, city representatives, and Atelier ps to complete the detailed design, conduct fund raising, manage construction activities, and organize hundreds of volunteers to install landscaping and play equipment. Construction was conducted by Northwestern Landscape Company. The Soundview Park renovation effort has strong community support. Many generous community members and local businesses have contributed services, materials, and money to make the renovation of Soundview Park a reality. Major contributors to the $580,000 project include:
