The following plan objectives are based on comments widely expressed during the first public meeting:

• Increase Visibility for better Natural Surveillance of the Park

• Provide Safer Access and Improve Pedestrian Circulation

• Accommodate Families with Children, Senior Citizens and Neighborhood Youth.

• Provide Places for Sitting, Picnicking, and Group Activities

The following ideas are common to each of the plans:

• Remove diseased and declining spruce trees. Plant new deciduous trees to replace them.

• Regrade the south portion of the park to: 1) increase visibility into the park from NW 90th. 2) connect upper and lower areas of the park. 3) provide an open passive lawn area.

• Incoporate a picnic shelter at a visibly prominent location with good surveillance.

• Improve pedestrian circulation and develop a loop path with benches.

• Open viewsheds into the park from NW 92nd to improve park surveillance.
