City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Funding

In August 2001 the Soundview Park Project committee was awarded its first grant! A $10,000 matching fund grant was received from the City of Seattle's Department of Neighborhoods. This grant was used to support the planning phase of the Soundview Park Project. The community's contributions of volunteer labor, materials, professional services and cash were matched with cash from the Department of Neighborhoods. The result was a master plan for the renovation of Soundview Park.

In January 2002 the Soundview Park Project was awarded a second $10,000 matching fund grant from the City of Seattle's Department of Neighborhoods.  This grant is being used to support the construction documents phase of the Soundview Park project.

In July 2002 the Soundview Park Project was awarded a $125,000 matching fund grant from the City of Seattle's Department of Neighborhoods Large Project Fund for park construction.

With immense gratitude, we thank Laurie Ames, our Dept. of Neighborhoods Project Coordinator, for her wisdom and ongoing support of this project.
