The Digital City
http://www.scn.org/edu/tesc-ds/2001-2002/fall/project.html
Objectives
Project Description
The project may involve developing software, a web-site, a video, campaign, executive briefing, rap music, research project, institutions, installations, etc. It may also involve studying and reporting on some aspect of the city. One way to orient your team is to look at the project through the eyes of an architect, a social scientist (sociologist, political scientist, economist, anthropologist), a technologist, media executive or other business person, journalist or artist.
Team Orientation
Each team will have 3-6 students and will work primarily with one faculty member. Each team member will be expected to communicate with others and to let them know if and when they won't be able to participate.
Schedule
Class time will be set aside October 3, 6, 27, and November 10 to work on projects. It expected that each team will need to be working on this project outside of class as well. Interim reports on project status are due on December 1. The final version will be due at the end of winter quarter.
