Transit Conditions in Seattle

[system traffic map]

Alternate route suggestions seem to be extraordinarily difficult to come by, and commuters are treated to a "secret handshake" system of avoiding traffic problems.

cctv157 Northgate Exit of I-5
n. view curves to right; s. view straight.
Northgate meets Rte. 99 at 105th St., but the 85th St. southbound exit, or 80th. St. from Aurora when travelling north make more sense.
cctvc01 Alaska Way Viaduct at Ferry Terminal
cctv812 I-5/I-90 Interchange
west view shows Royal Brougham Way, which connects to 1st Ave. South and Alaska Way Viaduct
Royal Brougham is reached northbound from Exit 164B. Michigan Ave. also connects I-5 with Rte. 99.
cctv481 Rte. 599
n. I-5 has road merging from left; s. I-5 shows merge from right; n. rte 599 shows off ramp toward camera (and less than 10 lanes)
This section is seldom busy.

Rte. 599 connects to 99, and routes through the 1st Ave. Bridge.

This page supports the "automatic reload" feature of newer browsers. If you are using a newer browser, the maps should automatically update every three minutes.

If the pictures aren't current, then your browser is retrieving images from its buffers. To get current images in either this page, or in WSDOT's "live cam" images, you need to reload from the server. Netscape 2.0 does this by <shift>[Reload];, although <shift>[Images]; often works; otherwise clear the buffers.
