NOTICE OF DESIGN REVIEW EARLY DESIGN

GUIDANCE MEETING

The Director of DCLU is convening the Design Review Board for an early design guidance meeting regarding the following location:

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The site is located in the northeast corner of the University Village shopping center east of the intersection of NE 49th St and 25th Av NE. The site is zoned Commercial 1 with a 65’ height limit (C1 65’). The proposal calls for the construction of 70,000 sq. ft. of retail with 700 parking stalls in an above grade structure, the demolition of 18,000 sq. ft. of existing building, and a 49,000 sq. ft. addition to the Bartell’s building with 65 surface parking stalls.

PROCESS

The applicants have applied for Design Review related to development of this site for a retail development. At the early design guidance meeting, the applicants will present information about the site and vicinity; the public may offer comments regarding the design and siting of a retail development on the subject site; and, the Design Review Board members will also offer comments and identify those Citywide Design Guidelines of highest priority in developing the site.
