UNIVERSITY FOLK DANCERS

About the Group

University Folk Dancers is a Balkan dance club founded in 1964. Once sponsored by the University of Washington, the club is now independent. The club meets every Friday night for Balkan line dancing, with occassional international dances throughout the evening. Most nights dancing occurs to taped music, although UFD sponsors live music parties throughout the year.

Who should come:

People of all ages and ethnic backgrounds are welcome. UFD is a friendly group which sponsors classes and encourages newcomers. Since almost all dances are group (line or circle) dances, no partner is necessary.

Dance Night

Every Friday throughout the year. (The dance may be cancelled if Christmas eve or day falls on a Friday.)
