ICC/NWREL Train-the-Trainer: Career Transitions
NWREL and the Washington InterCorps Council sponsored trhee Train-the-Trainer programs in Spring 2001: April 12 in Chelan, WA; April 17 in Yakima; and May 16 in Seattle. At eatch training, a morning session led participants through group facilitation techniques, and the afternoon session focused on how to lead a group though exercises designed to help members with effective transitions from national service into a variety of possible careers.
NWREL provided the curriculum and trainer, Betsy Ward. Regional ICC groups provided meeting space and facilitation techniques trainers.
Below are some links that came up in discussion during the Seattle training.
Free HTML Training for ICC Members
On Monday May 16 at Miller Community Center in Seattle, ten service members participated in an ICC-sponsored HTML training. The training was conducted by Wade Englund, VISTA with Seattle Community Networks, who wrote the curriculum.
Participants were led though several steps of web page creation, from conceiving a purposed-based design to writing the basic elements of hypertext markup language. Visit Wade's website at SCN for workshop curriculum and HTML resources.
Future trainings, either basic or more advanced, were recommended by training participants.
