The leadership of the Wedgwood Community Council is comprised of 12 trustees, three from each of the four quadrants. Each May, the term for one trustee in each quad ends and the general membership elects four WCC members to fill the vacancies. Members vote for their preferred candidates for each position, not just positions in their quad.

Often, a trustee whose first 3-year term ends will seek re-election. The WCC bylaws do impose term limits, however, and after two full terms a trustee steps down (but can return in a subsequent election).

This year, there were five positions to fill: the standard one per quad plus one opening created when a trustee retired before the end of his term. There were seven candidates, of whom three were incumbents seeking reelection and four were not current trustees. Two of the five positions featured more than one candidate.
