Citizens Concerned for the People of Iraq

"CCPI is dedicated to ending the economic sanctions imposed on Iraq by members of the United Nations Security Council. ... Reports from UNICEF and other UN agencies operating in Iraq estimate that over one million civilians, mostly children under age five, have died from malnutrition and disease as a result of the embargo."

The sanctions "continue to contribute to 'excess' deaths of over 5,000 children per month. The sanctions have been widely condemned as a form of warfare, a 'weapon of mass destruction', directed against the civilian population."

Nobel Peace Prize nominee Kathy Kelly has been to Iraq eleven times since 1996. She will speak on the sanctions and on-going bombing of Iraq on Thursday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 2702 Broadway Ave. E. in Seattle.

Friday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m. - The Dave Ross Show on KIRO Newsradio 710 AM will have Kathy Kelly as a guest.

Friday, April 28 at noon and 7:00 p.m. - Kathy Kelly will speak at Wyckoff Auditorium on the Seattle University campus, 900 Broadway Ave. on the second floor of the Engineering Bldg., on the south side of The Quad.
