Dark Skies Northwest

"Dark Skies Northwest is dedicated to preserving and promoting beautiful night time skies in the Pacific Northwest United States." ...

"Originally, the Space Needle Corporation indicated that the [85 million candle power] skybeam would be lit 70 nights per year. They then backed off of this schedule and claimed that it would only be lit on the nights of January 1st, 2nd and 3rd. So far they have lit it on five nights."

Fremont Fair

Saturday and Sunday, June 17 - 18 in the Artists' Republic of Fremont.

Seattle City Council - Vote on Low Income Car Impoundment

Monday, June 19, 2:00 p.m. in City Council chambers, 11th floor Municipal Bldg., 600 4th Ave. at James.

"Be present to urge them to vote to amend Seattle's suspended license car impoundment law... would end car impoundment for those whose licenses are only suspended due to unpaid traffic fines [the crime of being a poor person] but remain in place for people whose licenses are suspended due to dangerous driving offenses, such as DUI, reckless driving and hit & run."
