brought together 33 ordinary workers and organizers from ten

"The group that met at Seabeck came as individuals - a mineworker
from South Africa... a subway worker from Brazil, to name a few.
Workers arrived with our own sets of stories and experiences,

Coalition to Undo Racism Everywhere

"... The Coalition to Undo Racism Everywhere (CURE) is a
multi-racial, multi-cultural, multi-generational coalition of
community-based and faith-based organizations, businesses,
educators, artists and individuals including youth, now working
on the Seattle Schools campaign.
"Goals: to get racism out of every institution! Meeting includes
break up into small focus groups so that people get a chance to
meet each other, talk about their work, strategize, and find
ways to support each other and the Coalition."

the Labor Ready stockholders' meeting in Tacoma to speak out for
temp workers justice and demand minimum standards of pay and
working conditions for the day laborers who are dispatched from
the more than 800 offices across the US, Canada and Britain.
"... union activists from 40 local unions will gather to
march... to the 10:00 a.m. Labor Ready stockholders' meeting at
La Quinta Inn.
"Labor Ready... rakes off half the workers' wages, and then
charges them for the privilege of cashing in their checks."
