Speaking for Ourselves, To Each Other, with Bev Sims, host.

First of a 3-part series on the Wards Cove Cannery Workers case.

"In May, 1997 LELO hosted Speaking for Ourselves, To Each Other - a four day retreat at Seabeck, Washington that brought together 33 ordinary workers and organizers from ten different countries. ... in the context of an increasingly global economy and proliferation of trade accords that have put the living standards of the world's working people at risk.

"The group that met at Seabeck came as individuals - a mineworker from South Africa... a subway worker from Brazil, to name a few. Workers arrived with our own sets of stories and experiences, speaking in our own languages, holding our own viewpoints about the global economy and its effects on our lives."
