to set up free information tables at its 12th Month / New Millennium Cabaret,
in which local performers are offering their talents to help raise money for
women and children in domestic violence shelters and assist the educational
needs of homeless kids.
"A variety show combining drama; comedy; music; performance poetry; African,
Middle Eastern, Russian Gypsy, Flamenco, Modern and Hip Hop dance; and rock 'n
roll, by a range of professional performers and students.
"For the first time in recorded memory, way beyond an open mic, there will be

"La-Ba-Te-Yah seeks to provide a safe and nurturing environment for homeless
youth, combining Native American wisdom and ceremony with modern
educational, medical and social services. The three-story, 36-bed home
offers transitional and state group housing to youth between the ages of 12
and 21.
"Youth can stay for up to 18 months and are provided with access to medical
and educational services, case management, life skills training and career
counseling in preparation to living and working on their own."
$10 includes dinner, entertainment, dancing. 21 years or older only.
