Technical
audio engineering, web pages, audio gear, remote broadcasts, computer stuff
Community Outreach
finding local organizations, and giving them time on the air

Seeking Community Organizations

"... Studio X and MicroRadio.net is a working exploration of what happens when you make local media global.

"Studio X is seeking community organizations interested in broadcasting their voices. Studio X is programming NEWS AND COMMUNITY VIEWS shows and we would like your organization to consider producing material to fill one of these time slots.

"This is an opportunity for your organization to expand current education and outreach efforts, to gain experience in broadcasting, and to join others in expanding the public's access to local, independent media.

"There are several social change movements within our local community and we hope that Studio X and the MicroRadio Network can make a connection between what is happening here (in Seattle and the West Coast) and elsewhere (national and international)."

Broadcasting a Micropower Neighborhood FM Signal

"100 BUCKS! With a stable 56k connection to the internet, ... Provide the Studio X audio stream to your computer-deprived brothers and sisters, and pump out some FM signal yourself! We will show you how! Join the Micro Pirate Radio network! ...

"We will ship you out an MRS1 (Micro Radio Station in a box). You will be able to download our stream (or any *other* audio stream) from the internet, or ANY audio source) and BROADCAST on micro FM to your neighborhood. Can you say 'fuck the man'... We bet you can! ...

"Included with your MRS1 will be a set of open frequencies in your area made available to you by your local MicroRadio Communications Commission (in Seattle, contact: smrcc@MicroRadio.net). You can set up to broadcast within minutes, right from your home! ...

"By sending out a stream to the world wide web, our actions are protected under the first amendment as FREE SPEECH! WE actually are commiting no crimes, YOU ARE!

"Those of YOU who download our signal and rebroadcast us in micro-powered fm WILL BE the front line culture war heros! Now YOU can be the pirate in pirate radio!

"Who would have ever thought that less electricty than a bathroom nightlight, you can launch attacks that will end the corporate monopoly on information!

"... get off your ass cuz it will not be televised, it will be broadcast ... BY YOU! Contact mpr1@microradio.net if you want an MRS1."
