This provisional site is for a growing Seattle regional coalition of people and organizations who are concerned that the administration's response to the September 11th tragedy will result in the deaths of more innocent people.
Peace and Justice Events Calendar
The calendar, for the Seattle Area (and national and international), lists public events designed to make this a more just and peaceful world. Topics include (but are not limited to): nonviolence trainings, meetings about police accountability, workshops on racism, gay rights, press conferences on economic justice, information on boycotts and petitions, and government hearings on pending legislation ... and more. Have a look!
The fair is a wonderful opportunity for Puget Sound area students to learn more about Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Fair activities also include information on pre-college, undergraduate, and graduate programs, application procedures and educational workshops on financial aid, test-taking strategies, campus life, and opportunities to discuss academic programs.
The museum, located in Seattle, reveals the history of the telephone and the central office switches that made it all work. Exhibits permit hands on participation. A self-guided tour are available, along as guided tours. This site was created and is maintained by Lois Beedle.
The directory has been hosted on SCN since 1994. The directory was one of the first efforts to place crisis information online. Over 400 organizations are listed in the up-to-date directory and a wide range of services ranging from 12-step programs to minor home repair to information for sexual minorities. And even information on free haircuts for the homeless. The directory is a grassroots effort and is focused on self-referral.
SCN is hurting for cash and we very much need your help. The bills are still coming in, and we have not yet been able to raise the money needed to pay all of them. If we are unable to raise funds now, it is possible we will not be able to continue operating soon.
Please, if you value SCN's services, and see its long-lasting potential to be of even more value to you and the community, help support SCN now with a donation.
