The Friends of the Southwest Branch Library support library programs, raise funds for special purposes, volunteer to do projects, promote community awareness of libraries, advocate for robust city funding of The Library, and support the freedom of individuals to read what they wish.
Currently in its temporary location on Delridge Way, Chief Sealth is expected to re-open in the Fall of 2010 in newly renovated facilities at its former location on SW Thistle Street. Construction progress can be found here on the West Seattle Blog.
The new Denny Middle School is to be housed on the same campus as the renovated Chief Sealth High School. The current middle school building will then be demolished and be replaced with a park for the community.
