The Westwood Neighborhood Council has set up a Westwood "listserv", which is a single e-mail address (westwood-neighbors@scn.org) that people can write to, that will forward the e-mail to everyone who chooses to subscribe. The beauty of this approach is:
- we don't all have to memorize everyone's address
- we don't have to maintain 87 individual versions of the same list
- people can add or remove themselves from the list without needing someone else's intervention
Only subscribed list members can post to the list, which helps keep spam at a minimum.
Joining the list:
For those of you who want to tell all your friends and neighbors how to join the list, here's what they need to know:
- Address an e-mail message to:
- You don't need a subject line, and in the body of the message put ONLY the
following words:
subscribe westwood-neighbors
- The computer will take care of things from there.
Leaving the list:
Meanwhile, if you try this neighborhood e-mail list and don't like it, here's all you need to do to sign off:
