- Citizens Concerned for the People of Iraq
-
CCPI is dedicated to ending the economic sanctions imposed on Iraq by the
UN. The sanctions are a complete embargo on trade, except for humanitarian
shipments approved by the UN Security Council, and have been in place since
1990. According to UNICEF, they have contributed to the deaths of half a
million children under five and continue to contribute to excess deaths of
over 5,000 children per month. The sanctions have been widely condemned as a
form of warfare, a "weapon of mass destruction," directed against the
civilian population.

UFM, part of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), offers
