To read the mainstream media, there is almost no opposition
in the US to this administration's attack on Iraq. Women in Black know that this is
not true. In our vigils, we encounter many people who are concerned and troubled
about the consequences of this action. We also hear people express their doubts
about what we have accomplished in Afghanistan, where violence - especially violence
against women - and the rule of competing warlords continues to afflict the country.
Please take a few minutes to make the voices for peace
heard above the din of wardrums.
Write letters to the editor, join working groups
committed to peaceful resolutions of conflict,
and come join us, WIB-Seattle, any Thursday
from 5 to 6 P.M. at Westlake Park for a silent vigil.
