- Working in conjunction with community members wishing to start a block watch on their block
- Serving as liaison regarding public safety issues for the North Precinct, the City, the WCC, and other government bodies for Wedgwood block watch captains
- Planning and executing a yearly (or semi-yearly) Wedgwood Block Watch Summit for Wedgwood block watch captains and other interested community members for the purpose of networking, brainstorming, and sharing information of concern

- Community Meeting -- Registered Sex Offender Information
Wednesday May 25, 2005, from 7-9pm at Wedgwood Elementary School, located at 2720 NE 85th Street.
The Seattle Police Department will be conducting a community education meeting sponsored by the Wedgwood Wide Block Watch (WWBW) Committee and Wedgwood Elementary regarding registered sex offenders living in the Wedgwood area. Detective Bob Shilling, Special Assault Unit's Sex and Kidnapping Offender Detail and Interpol Specialists Group on Crimes Against Children, will be conducting the meeting.
Detective Shilling's presentation will cover the following topics: sex offender registration, community notification, understanding what it means to have a sex offender living in your neighborhood, characteristics and behavioral indicators of a pedophile, separating sex offender fact from sex offender myth, and what citizens can do to protect themselves and their children from being the victim of a sex offender.
Detective Shilling will have bulletins, including photographs, of all high-risk sex offenders living in the area available for members of the public to take with them. This meeting is being held as part of an ongoing community education program to inform neighborhoods about registered sex and kidnapping offenders living within the city limits of Seattle. Due to the frank nature of the presentation, this meeting may not be appropriate for children under 12 years of age.
