Sat Jan 15, 9 a.m., at GZ, 16159 Clear Creek Road NW, Poulsbo; The Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action (GZ) invites you to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday by taking a stand against nuclear weapons. GZ will sponsor a vigil and nonviolent direct action at the Trident Nuclear Submarine Base in Bangor, WA. This base, located only 14 miles west of Seattle, has the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons in the world. The day begins with a Nonviolence training; Noon Brown bag lunch. GZ provides soup, coffee and hot chocolate; 1 p.m. Program, 1:45 Leave GZ to walk 1/2 mile to the base gate. Rides available, 2:15 Vigil at the Bangor gate, 2:30 Nonviolent direct action for those who participated in nonviolence training during the morning, 3:00 Return to GZ, 3:30 Closing circle.
