- Lived abroad and visited relatives in Spain and France for six months, 1977.
- Traveled around the perimeter of the U.S. and Canada (Quebec) for six months, 1993.
- "Lived out" of my Volkswagen Camper (with relatives' teeth rattling in back) for
two months while returning to Seattle from contract position in San Diego, 1995.
- Made goal weight at Weight Watchers in 1988 and have kept my weight stable since then.
- Making a decision in 1986 to live simply and at less cost to my health.
- Hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon (and back, of course).
