Keith Gormèzano's Poetry:
Howling Wolf

In the cold north corner of my apartment,
There is a howling wolf.
Yes, there is.
I created her myself
out of a six by fifteen foot orange fishnet.

Lie on my double waterbed,
with one side used.
Look up!
What? You still do not see her?

Look! Look at her front paws
attached to my west window,
her rear legs held by the solitary light
in the center of the apartment,
long, curving tail captured by the northeast door,
her arching back married to the ceiling,
and her jaws,
her jaws grab hold of my cold north window,
throat roaring in imprisoned pain.

Or is it only the wind blowing through the air conditioner?
Do you hear her?
Her whole body struggles when she howls.

There is a howling wolf
in my apartment.
Yes, there is.
I created her myself.
Do you perceive her now?
