*(These two disks will be formatted by Gordon)

Labels i and ii, iii, iv, and v, vi, vii, viii through xi, and xii through xv should be the same label color (yellow, red, green, blue, or orange). You may choose which colors go with which labels. Labels should include site name (Name of City) and date (i.e., 9/97) in the lower left and right corners of the diskette label, respectively.

  1. Obtain the CD "Windows NT Server 4.0."
  1. Insert in CD drive.
  2. Click on or go to the DOS Prompt.
  3. Change default directory to D:\I386.
  4. Type WINNT32/OX to create the three setup disks.
  5. The following screen will appear:

    1. Click "OK", then insert the diskettes.
    2. Remember they will be in reverse order (3,2,1) so check the labels.

Move the write-protect tab on each diskette to protect/lock them.

    3. Exit setup.
    4. Open Explorer and go to C:\My Documents.
Copy the dll file "setupdd.sys" to Windows NT 4.0 Server Setup Disk #2
(Disk 2 of 3) to replace the old dll files.
If you can’t find the file on Explorer, select View to show all files.
  1. Files will be copied to your hard drive as part of the installation process. NT needs to copy certain files to read the CD-ROM drive. Wait about five (5) minutes. Take a break.
  2. Unload CD-ROM.

Step Two:

  1. Insert the CD-ROM "Compaq Smart Start and Support Software, Release 3.40" in the
CD-ROM drive. Diskette Builder program will load automatically.
  2. Click on "I agree", then click on "OK" to begin.
  3. Click on "Next" to build software diskettes from CD only.
  4. Double-click on directory "Compaq". A list of software to be selected will appear.
  5. Select the following software to copy from the CD-ROM to the floppies:
  1. Compaq Systems ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade 3.12B.
(This will be labeled as "Systems ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette For Compaq ProLiant 800, 850R, and 2500 Servers") (One disk)
  2. Compaq Remote Insight Board Firmware 1.10 (One disk 1)
  3. Compaq Options ROMPaq 2.38 (Four disks but screen will say three are needed)
  4. Compaq Support Software (SSD) for NT 4.0 v2.00A (Four disks)
  1. Screen will continue to state "nine disks are needed." Ignore it. Click on Next.
  2. Diskette builder screen appears. Insert the appropriate diskettes as requested. Diskettes are inserted in ascending (1-4) order unlike before. Click OK.
Make sure that the labels match the software to be copied to the diskette.
  3. Remember to move the write-protect tab for each disk.
  4. Exit program by clicking "finish" and unloading CD-ROM.

Step Three:

Slot 4: "Name of City Slot 4 - Thursday"
Slot 5: "Name of City Slot 5 - Friday"

Slot 9: "Name of City Slot 7 - Thursday 2"
Slot 10: "Name of City Slot 7 - Thursday 3"

Slot 2: "Name of City Slot 2 - Tuesday"

  8. Click on format from this pull-down menu.
  9. Click on left square button next to the left of the name of first tape,
it will then turn green. Begin typing in information (city name, etc.)
  10. Click on next button below to copy information. Use backspace key to modify next listing. Go to next tape button.
  11. Click OK on last tape.

*If you find changer will not load try dismounting by ejecting tape cartridge.
