HERE is an excerpt from the august 19th KIRBY WILBUR show on in the early mornings on kvi 570 am ( sea. 421-5757 sno. 348-5757 oly. 751-5757) his show is on from 5:00am to 9:00am. Here is one of the stupid questions he asked of Dr. Zimmer and Dr. Morgan, authors of the book MARIJUANA MYTHS---- published by the lindesmith center KIRBY WILBUR: "let me ask this, um many people advocate um less penalties or legalization of marijuana, compared to alcohol, Let me just say: I consume alcohol on an ocasional basis, I'll have a beer after I mow the lawn, I'm not a 'city' drinker. I rarely have more than 3 beers a month. IT'S AMAZING! ... but what... but in my mind I find the difference between alcohol and marijuana is that I don't drink alcohol to get drunk. DO NOT!- people smoke marijuana to get 'high'???" (DEEEP BREATH HERE) KIRBY WILBUR: " IS THAT a significant diffrence- MEDICALLY???- between the consumption of alcohol-I mean- AH some people do drink to get drunk , most casual users of alcohol do not! they drink to relax and be with their friendsand socialize, BUT DON'T MOST PEOPLE SMOKE MARIJUANA TO GET HIGH???? LYNN ZIMMER RESPONDS: " Well 'getting high' is a lot like what you describe, I mean people who smoke a little marijuana occasionally describe it very much the way that you describe having one beer, that is- it helps them to relax, they feel a little better. Uhm the idea that people are high in some dramitic way from a little bit of marijuana- simply is not true." KIRBY: "UH OKAY, GOSH I have a thousand more questions to ask but we don't have time. But your going to be on John Carlsons show today at 4:15 to 5:30 and folks, if you want to call in and share in the debate, ask questions, or order the book at 1-800-444-2524, and Dr. Zimmer and Dr. Morgan thank you."
