Identifying Names of the Barrier Sections

* Includes the main barrier, secondary barriers and combinations
of the two.
** Totals taken prior to realignment pursuant to Supreme Court
Decision concerning route of Arafat-Yassin Barrier. Totals will be
updated when accurate data becomes available. I am not sure if
substantive changes have been made to the secondary sections,
although this seems unlikely because the secondary sections are
already precisely located.

The Israeli barrier works because people crossing the border are presumed to be potential terrorists. Attempting to slip across the barrier can get you shot.Unauthorised border crossings across the US-Mexican border are by people looking to work in the US. Obviously, nobody is going to shoot a bunch of undocumented workers, so an Israeli style separation barrier across the US-Mexican border makes no sense. It's a stupid idea. If the government wants to enforce the laws making it illegal to hire undocumented workers, that won't be accomplished by building a fence.
