Kneepad for IFR Plates

The end result is a zip-up kneepad holder for approach plates, clearance notes and checklists

Needed:

• Zipper-type 3 ring binder, NOAA size (except for the 3 ring part) These have fake leather covers, and zip closed so your loose papers don't get lost. There are also pockets in the covers, which were originally intended for high school students to carry their sectional charts. A representation of Bevis & Butthead on the cover is a plus. The binder portion is on the left or right side of the page.
• Strip of WIDE bra strap material, to wrap around thigh. Buy at any fabric or kinky apparel store.
• Small amount of velcro - kinky apparel store only
• Contact cement & Booklet staples

  First Methoud: Slit a hole in the right cover, parallel to the fold of the notebook.
  The slit can be anywhere from the center to near the fold. The vertical position of the slit is preferably 1/3 way down from the top.

  Pass the bra strap through the slit and glue strap end to the inside of the cover. It doesn't matter which direction the bra strap goes inside the cover.

  Glue velcro (hooks) to the strap end where the strap end is glued to the inside of the cover. You will have inside the cover with an end of the bra strap glued to the cover, and velcro glued on top of that.

  You will also have a long free end of the bra strap. Open the notebook, wrap the bra strap around your thigh. Position the free end over the velcro hooks to determine where the velcro pile goes.

  Take the mess to the office and staple the velcro through the cover with killer staples. Use ordinary staples to reenforce the velcro pile to the free end.
  
  

  Second Methoud:

  Attach the bra strap to the outside, attach velcro (hooks) to the outside. This takes a little more velcro than the first layout because it places the velcro'ed attachment in tension.
