My problem is that I have no idea how to capture someone as magnificent and complex as God with my pitiful words. I've had the same problem trying to take pictures of beautiful vistas with my camera. The resulting picture is flat and limited. There are many times I raise the camera to my eye, search for the right shot and end up taking nothing. To truly experience the beauty, I realize, one needs to be standing in the midst of it with both their eyes, turning about and soaking it all in.
So it is with God, I think. I truly want share with you my experiences with God--knowing full well it's only a snapshot of His wonder, His truth or His love. But my words seem so inadequate that I'm intimidated from even trying. O, Lord, open my lips!
Of course, smart people don't try to capture the Almighty in a single page.Hymn writers focus on a single aspect or story when they pen their praises. Teachers and devotional writers concentrate on a particular topic. Even the Bible itself is a tapestry of stories, poems and essays; the work of different people of different times, moved by the same Spirit to tell the story of God's love for his rebellious children. So I'll follow the example. I've moved the links to another page and have started a collection of ramblings--a photo album of my journey with God. Just remember, whether you like my "photography" or not, it ain't nothin' like experienceing Him in person.
