Alopecia areata genetic study, recruitment call for Europe and
Scandinavia based volunteers.
A European and Scandinavian consortium of 14 clinics in 12 countries are
planning a large scale study to define general alopecia areata
susceptibility and resistance genes in families of alopecia areata affected
individuals.

willing to take part in the study, please provide your name and your

regarding allergies in patients with alopecia areata. Please direct any
results of tests (e.g., patch tests, skin prick, etc.) detailing
hypersensitivity to external substances or stimuli to casanova@np2.mcg.edu.

"If you are one of two affected siblings with parents OR families with
several AA members (at least 2). We are trying to collect AA families and
sib pairs for genetic linkage studies. However, we are also interested in
whether HLA genes in combination (DRB/DQ) or (DQA/DQB) determine alopecia
universalis. We will send you a consent form and have you send us blood
samples." To obtain the consent form or for further information write to
